How will my data be used?

Data will be used to produce both a career path heat map alongside themes from qualitative data with the primary output being a report alongside recommendations for enhancing health informatics career pathways development. This project is part of the national Building a Digital Ready Workforce (BDRW) Programme. The report will be made publically available to support development of the health informatics community.

South Central and West (SCW) Commissioning Support Unit have been commissioned to undertake this piece of work and therefore will be processing any relevant data on behalf of the BDRW Programme. An academic learning piece will also follow working with University College London. What if I change my mind about participating in this research?

If you change your mind about participation before the survey deadline you can also contact us to let us know and we will remove your survey responses from the analysis.

Who will have access to my personal and identifiable data?

Your name and email address will only be available to the project team at SCW undertaking the analysis. It is optional whether you provide this.

It is important to highlight that for many individuals, your individual response will be identifiable due to the nature of individual career paths. Therefore, individual responses will only be available to two researchers at UCL who are supporting rigour and analysis of this project.  Anyone else involved in this work will only have access to aggregated themes and higher level data.

Any publications or presentations that follow may use short quotes to illustrate key themes but these will be anonymised.

We are using Survey Monkey to complete this survey so we need to advise that Survey Monkey stores European data on servers in the United States. Their Privacy Policy can be found HERE.

Will my details be passed on for follow up work?

Participants will have the option to indicate preferences for future contact ranging from additional research opportunities to simply being notified when outputs are available. If any follow up opportunities are carried out by organisations other than SCW on behalf of the BDRW programme, your data will not be passed on. You will instead be emailed relevant details of how you can sign up to additional research.

How long will my data be stored?

Individual survey responses will be deleted by 31st March 2020 to ensure both personal and identifiable data is not stored for longer than necessary.
